Attic Insulation

The attic is where most homes lose the most heat. Proper attic insulation keeps warm air inside in winter and hot air out in summer, dramatically reducing your energy bills. It also prevents ice dams — a major problem in Minnesota — by keeping the roof surface temperature even.

Basement Insulation

Basement insulation is critical whether you're finishing the space or just trying to keep your floors warmer. We insulate basement walls and rim joists to prevent heat loss and moisture infiltration.

Exterior Insulation Replacement

When you're already investing in new siding, adding or upgrading exterior insulation is highly cost-effective. We coordinate insulation upgrades with siding projects for maximum efficiency.

Insulation Materials

Spray Foam

Expands to fill every gap, crack, and void — the best air sealing available. Open-cell foam is great for attics; closed-cell foam provides vapor barrier properties and is ideal for basements and crawl spaces.

Blown-In (Loose Fill)

Fiberglass or cellulose blown into attic floors is the most common and cost-effective way to bring attic insulation up to recommended R-values (R-49 to R-60 for Minnesota). Cellulose is environmentally friendly, made from recycled paper.

Batt Insulation

The familiar pink fiberglass rolls — affordable and effective when properly installed without gaps or compression. Best for wall cavities and between floor joists.

Foam Board / Rigid Foam

High R-value per inch — roughly double that of other materials. Used for basement walls, exterior wall sheathing, and under slabs. XPS and polyiso boards are common choices.

How Much Insulation Do You Need?

Minnesota's climate zone (Zone 6/7) calls for R-49 to R-60 in attics and R-15 to R-21 in walls. Most older homes fall well short of these targets. We'll assess your current insulation levels and give you an honest recommendation.
